Instructions
Whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt in a shallow bowl until well combined.
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a tablespoon of butter or oil.
Quickly dip each slice of stale bread into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are coated but not over-soaked.
Place the coated bread slices in the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
Repeat with the remaining slices, adding more butter or oil to the skillet as needed.
Serve hot with your choice of toppings.

Using stale bread helps prevent sogginess and ensures the French toast holds up well during cooking.
